Heyyo!

Creatures of the internet! It's me, Infen, writing a post on my little blog I made at 3:28am for funsies. I love writing and worldbuilding, I DM a group of players in a completely homebrewed D&D campaign, and I always have random thoughts- so I figured why not share them for everyone to admire? :)

I really want to get more into writing. It's always been a hobby of mine but I've never had the confidence (or rather, the organization) to share it. I think the more I write without sharing, the more I start to feel this weird sense of dissatisfaction.

I want to share the stuff I am working on, not because I think it's perfect by any means, but because I want to leave a mark on this world, even if it is just through a few silly stories that a handful of people read.

I've been writing stories my whole life, hells, even when I was a wee child gripping a purple Crayola crayon I was imagining worlds full of possibilities. I would spend most of my time roleplaying with friends in fantastical and sci-fi settings, or playing sandbox games (you know the one) and making weird, often nonsensical things. I draw a ton of inspiration from games, books, and movies. Games like Wizard101, LittleBigPlanet, Super Paper Mario, and Pokemon have shaped a huge part of how I think creatively. Books and movies such as The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and the MCU always got my creative juices flowing, and still do!

I love making stories that blend classic fantasy with sci-fi themes. Imagine a group of wizards blasting fireballs and teleporting while aboard a space station in deep space. That blend of magic and technology is what inspired the name of my most ambitious setting: Eradox. The title hints at the setting- a world where time periods collide and nothing makes sense.

My players and I recently finished Volume 3 of the "Adventures in Eradox" campaign that I DMed for over 2 years. We went from level 1 adventurers fighting some goblins to taking down a Titan of Chaos and then destroying a secretive agency that controlled the knowledge of ancient (or rather, modern) technology and held back the world's progress for millennia.

I loved our campaign, but it has left me wondering what it would be like to adapt it into an actual story. I've thought about writing standalone short stories, similar to D&D sessions that split such a large story arc into easy to understand pieces. I've also considered writing one large novel, but then I wondered- does anyone even read books anymore? The dominant media in our present era is short-form, easy to understand videos. So, I started thinking; what if I could adapt Eradox into something similar? Short stories, each self-contained but yet connected by an overarching story.

All of that has brought me to starting a blog to share a little bit about what I plan to do here. I want to write stories and I want to build a world for everyone to enjoy- one that is easy to jump into and pick up. I definitely don't expect it to be easy, but I love a good challenge and it's something to do in my free time.

This is just the beginning of my Adventures in Eradox. I don't know where this adventure will take me, but just like in D&D, there's only one way to find out. If you read all this, thank you for stopping by. Feel free to leave a comment or say hello on my socials.
